This is exactly how it is in my environment. Starting in 1802, the config manager client manages Defender directly without SCEP on Win 10 and Windows Server 2016/2019. SCEPInstall.exe may still be present in C:\Windows\ccmsetup on some machines, but new client installations shouldn't download it. Administrators can remove the Endpoint Protection agent on Windows 10 devices that are running at least the 1802 client version. If it's already installed on Windows 10 devices, Configuration Manager doesn't remove it. Starting in Configuration Manager 1802, you don't need to install the Endpoint Protection agent (SCEPInstall) on Windows 10 devices. It really depends on what version of SCCM you're using. As a general rule, if someone has flair, they almost definitely know what they're talking about. Microsoft employees typically have MSFT Official flair, and MVPs usually have MSFT Enterprise Mobility MVP with a link to their personal site/blog.Please send mod mail if you qualify and would like flair set for your account.
